Ruedi Cathry leads the Uri district administrator into office as the new president!
Ruedi Cathry was unanimously elected today as the new President of the Uri District Administrator for the 2025/26 term of office. The FDP politician from Schattdorf brings extensive experience with him, as he was previously vice president of the district administrator and has been a member of this body since 2012. In his professional career he works as a business economist and electrical engineer and is a member of the management of EWA Energie Uri AG. Cathry succeeds Kurt Gisler, who held the office of district administrator last year.
When he took office, Cathry thanked the district administrator for the trust he had placed in him. He emphasized the importance of hearing the voice of the people and feeling the “pulse” of the population in order to make political decisions in the interests of the citizens. This is a central demand that Gisler also made during his term in office, when he pointed out the need to bring politicians closer to the population. He praised the media coverage, which plays an essential role in increasing the district administrator's visibility and making it easier for citizens to find out about political issues.
