SCANDAL at Porsche: 3,900 jobs at risk – Blume warns of CHAO!
The automotive world is turned upside down, and for a reason that should shock the hearts of Porsche fans! Porsche's CEO Oliver Blume has sent an icy message to the cult brand's workforce, confronting the workforce with unimaginable challenges: Porsche's current business model no longer works! Mercury reports that the automotive rulers in Stuttgart must plan a new structural package in order to keep the once exalted brand in competition.
But that's not all! In February 2025 it was announced that a shocking 1,900 jobs would have to be cut. And that's just the beginning! An incredible 3,900 jobs are expected to be cut by 2029. The gloomy foreboding that the workforce will not have to fear any redundancies until 2030 may be comforting - but the job cuts are being made on a voluntary basis, which is only likely to further fuel employees' fears!
A letter full of worries
In a stirring letter, Blume addressed the employees directly and described the situation as serious! The upcoming talks with the works council about further savings could be the decisive step into a bleak future. The fear forces the workforce into their email inboxes, where worries about the company's situation pile up. The news about the impending cuts came just three weeks before the company holidays, as if they wanted to ruin the employees' summer!
But the disastrous news doesn't end there! Porsche now has to face enormous challenges in the emerging markets of China and the USA. The luxury vehicle market in China has suffered a dramatic decline, and affordable electric cars have a firm grip on this market. Another obvious problem is the new tariffs and the weak dollar, which are putting a significant strain on business in the USA. The demand for electric mobility is growing more slowly than hoped, forcing Porsche to revise its annual forecast for 2025 downwards!
A fall into the bottomless pit
The numbers speak for themselves! In the first quarter of 2025, the operating result collapsed by a shocking 40.6% to just 0.76 billion euros. In addition, sales fell to 8.86 billion euros. Porsche is in the middle of the storm, and the dark clouds over Stuttgart will not disappear until the challenges are overcome. South Germans has impressively illuminated the tragedy of this situation.
Details of the unprecedented structural package are being worked out behind closed doors and employees must fear that the future security of their jobs is in jeopardy. Will Porsche's glory days finally be over? One thing is certain: the dormers in Stuttgart are at a critical turning point, and the next steps could change everything!
