Executioner's festival in Stuttgart: moving for security reasons has been decided!

The popular oneExecutioner's festivalStuttgart is facing a significant change: due to security concerns, the festival has to move. In recent years the event has taken place on Wilhelmsplatz and only celebrated its 30th edition last year. The decision to change location follows recent security incidents, including multiple vehicle attacks, that have shaken confidence in the security of major events. The city of Stuttgart and the organizers are working closely together to review and improve the necessary security measures, which Stuttgarter News reported.

The new location of the executioner's festival will be moved only about a hundred meters into the old town. Michael Helmstädter, one of the festival's co-founders, noted with disappointment that he had not expected this year's celebration to be the last at the current location. Security is a recurring topic at major events, as BPS Protect highlights. The topic is often only raised after incidents, which underlines the importance of preventive measures.

A festival with tradition and diversity

The Hangman's Festival has a long tradition, the roots of which go back to the Middle Ages, when hangmen worked on Wilhelmsplatz. Every year the festival attracts numerous visitors who look forward to four days full of live music and culinary delicacies. The gastronomic offerings range from tarte flambée and Italian specialties to refreshing cocktails at the Havana Club cocktail bar. Entry to this open-air event is free, making it a popular destination for thousands. According to BW Guide, the Henkersfest will take place from July 30th to August 2nd this year.

Given recent developments, it is essential that organizers and the city work together to develop a well-thought-out security concept. As BPS Protect emphasizes, this is crucial to the success and security of events. A reliable concept could not only address safety concerns, but also secure visitor numbers in the long term and increase confidence in future events.
