Waldheim Hedelfingen: Future-oriented daycare center for the young generation!
The Stuttgart city group of the Swabian Homeland Association invites you to a special event in the Waldheim Hedelfingen on Wednesday, June 25th. Under the title “Children, to the sun to freedom - Waldheimverein Hedelfingen: Services for the young generation as well as for integration and cohesion”, club chairman Paul Wurm will give insights into the over 100-year history of the Waldheimverein. Visitors can look forward to historical photos and original documents documenting the development of the association. This event also offers the opportunity to get to know the newly designed Waldheim-Hedelfingen daycare campus better, which has an area of more than 5,665 square meters.
The newly opened daycare center will accommodate around 150 children. It is equipped with modern offers such as all-day places and toddler groups. A special highlight is the building's innovative energy technology, which works with ice storage heating and is therefore independent of fossil fuels. This information is supplemented by the Cannstatter Zeitung, which also reports that the construction costs for the daycare center amount to around 3.4 million euros. Thanks to the self-sufficient energy supply, the facility is independent of oil, gas or wood pellets. These decisions were made at the end of 2020, before the Russian war of aggression in Ukraine influenced a change in energy policy.
Event details
The meeting point for the event is at 4:25 p.m. at the “Am Bergwald” bus stop (line 65). The reception will take place in the new gym and assembly hall on the Waldheim grounds (Am Bergwald 19). At the end of the event there will be drinks and a small catering provided by the club. Interested parties can register by June 24th by email to stefan.j.frey@t-online.de or stuttgart@schwaebischer-heimatbund.de.
The event is not only a homage to the history of the Waldheimverein, but also an opportunity to recognize the pioneering development in the region and especially in Hedelfingen. With its focus on integration and cohesion, the Waldheimverein sends a strong signal for the importance of early childhood education in the community.
