Kerne fire brigade: New drone revolutionizes the person search!
The Kernen volunteer fire brigade recently presented an innovative drone that will be used in the future when searching for people. This new technology will not only increase the efficiency of the search campaigns, but will also offer valuable support for the emergency services. The operational control car (ELW), which is used to control the drone, stands on a lawn near the Yburg and is well equipped. A monitor, a small landing site and a warning sign with the inscription "Drone in Use" are attached to the ELW to inform passers -by about the ongoing actions.
The presence of the drone is coordinated by a specialized team from the fire brigade. Three firefighters are divided into specific roles: as a "pilot", "camera operator" and "air observer", which can ensure precise control and monitoring of operations. The drone is used in particular in the vineyards via cores, which are often difficult to access and represent additional challenges when looking for people.

However, the possible uses of the drone -supported search campaigns also face challenges. Especially at high temperatures, the use of the drone could be made more difficult, which presents the emergency services with additional problems. Such climatic conditions can affect the performance of the drone, which is why careful planning and implementation of the operations is necessary.
The drone itself, modified for the requirements of the fire brigade, is equipped with the latest technology. More specifically, it is the M30T model, which has powerful cameras and sensors. These make it possible to make precise surveillance and recordings from the air, which are of great value in critical situations drone112 (….
By using this drone, the Kernen volunteer fire brigade shows how modern technology can improve the efficiency of the rescue and auxiliary services. The combination of traditional fire work and digital innovation is an important step in order to be able to react faster and more effectively in an emergency.
