The Lake Oswego Lakers football team put on an incredible, first-class spectacle on Friday! In a stunning show of force, South Medford was sent home by a stunning 40-3 on the hallowed turf of Spiegelberg Stadium. Coach Steve Coury described his team's performance as "unimaginable" and one wonders: Is this the start of a triumph?
The Lakers smelled blood and put an offense on the field in the first 14 minutes that struck six times in a row. Volunteer player Hudson Kurland, a Washington State commit, reigned supreme and led his team to top performances with 207 pass yards and three sensational touchdowns. His 40-yard rushing touchdown alone is already legendary!
An outrageous gameplay
The Lakers' defense was also a weapon as Liam Tobin was able to force South Medford's quarterback into a safety in the end zone. This shocking event catapulted the team even further and brought excited faces in the stands!
But it wasn't just Kurland who impressed: Sam Vyhlidal, Jalen Bauman and Jasiah Agnimel caught the touchdown passes, making each pass a shot into the heart of the opponents. South Medford coach Bill Singler admitted his team had “positive moments” but failed miserably against the power of Lake Oswego. Your only chance for points? A measly 23-yard field goal from Jaeden Thonstad after a fumble recovery!
