VfB Stuttgart celebrates the DFB Cup in Schorndorf – Be there!

On June 7, 2025, VfB Stuttgart crowned a memorable season by winning the 2023 DFB Cup. In the final, the Stuttgart team beat Arminia Bielefeld 4-2 and thus secured the fourth DFB Cup in the club's history. This outstanding performance also qualifies VfB for the Europa League, which further increases the anticipation for the coming season. The DFB Cup, which is 52 cm high and weighs 5.7 kg, will be presented to the public in Schorndorf on June 22, 2023 and is part of the “VfB im Ländle Summer Tour 2025”.

A varied program awaits fans on the Schorndorf market square, with numerous participation activities, competitions and sporting activities on offer. Club legends, VfB officials and the mascot Fritzle will also be on site to accompany the celebrations. Brilliant sporting performance in the final

The path to the title was anything but easy, but VfB Stuttgart consistently took advantage of their chances in the final against Bielefeld. The first goals came early and were largely initiated by Angelo Stiller, who assisted Nick Woltemade to make it 1-0 in the 15th minute. This was followed by a goal from Enzo Millot (22nd minute) and another goal from Deniz Undav (28th minute) - both prepared by Stiller. In the second half of the game, Millot put the icing on the cake for VfB's 4-0 lead with his second goal in the 66th minute.

However, Bielefeld, who had impressively defeated four Bundesliga teams and one second division team during the cup, showed character and were able to score two goals in the final phase. Julian Kania and an own goal from Josha Vagnoman made the final score 4-2. Despite the defeat, Bielefeld could be proud of the season as the team was promoted to the 2nd league as champions.

The foundation for the future

VfB coach Sebastian Hoeneß was positive about winning the title and the entire season. In his 99th game as coach, he won his first title and showed what influence he had on the team. Maximilian Mittelstädt described winning the DFB Cup as a dream and underlined the importance of success for the team's motivation.

As part of the “VfB im Ländle Summer Tour 2025”, VfB Stuttgart will not only be active in Schorndorf, but also in other important locations. Planned stops are the market square festival in Ludwigsburg on June 28th, the city festival in Calw on June 29th, the city festival in Albstadt on July 20th and the market square in Heilbronn on July 27th. Particular attention is paid to the International Lake Constance Week in Konstanz on June 14th. The club would like to strengthen its presence outside the greater Stuttgart area, as over 60% of the members and fans do not come from the region.
