The Mad King returns: Halloween highlights in Lion’s Arch!

Today, October 16, 2025, the annual Halloween event begins in the world of Tyria. As always, the city of Lion's Arch is overshadowed by the mysterious and crazy monarch, Mad King Thorn, who opens the gate to his kingdom. Female adventurers are invited to explore the Mad Realm and test their skills in various activities. The Magistra Tassi has assured the Council of Captains that it is relatively safe, spurring the courage of the players to begin their journey of discovery. Anyone who registers at the Magnificent Piazza will receive a piece of candy corn as a reward (5).

In 2025, the Halloween Rituals meta-achievement was updated. Players have the opportunity to earn the new fashionable reward, the Mad Jester's Pants, by completing Halloween activities. This activity is a wonderful way to experience the festival's many events and challenges.

New rewards and content

In addition to the pants, players will gain access to a number of new and exciting rewards. The popular Clawing Shadow Chest, introduced last year, is now available to purchase from Candy Corn Merchants. The new Unleashed weapon set is now available, and progress in the Halloween Rituals meta-achievement allows you to obtain a special weapon.

The Halloween event also sees the return of popular content in the areas of guild decorations and weapon sets. For example, in 2024, the meta achievement was updated with the Clawing Shadow chest. Players can look forward to new weapons available from Trick-or-Treat bags, as well as the introduction of Dark Machine weapons available as loot.

A celebration for all players

The event has a long tradition in Guild Wars 2, dating back to 2018, when various activities and achievements were offered to players. Popular mini-games like The Mad King Says, which requires players to perform emotes, are also part of the all-round program designed to keep players engaged. Trick-or-treat bags can be collected during the event, offering numerous and often exclusive rewards.
