Training expert Bianca Loock-Hummel honored with state trainer award!

Bianca Loock-Hummel, the training and further education manager at “Schwörer Haus”, was awarded the State Trainer Prize 2025. The award was presented to her by the Baden-Württemberg Economics Minister Nicole Hofmeister-Kraut as part of the Training Ambassadors Congress on Monday in Stuttgart. Loock-Hummel was honored when she was nominated by her own trainees without having applied herself.

She was chosen from over 180 applications and can look back on an impressive record. Since 2002 she has been leading the training at “Schwörer Haus” and has trained over 600 young people in 18 different professions. The prize, worth 2,000 euros, recognizes their commitment and outstanding achievements in the field of training.

Challenges and commitment in training

The company employs 1,450 people at its Oberstetten location, including Loock-Hummel, who looks after 68 trainees. Theoretically, up to 80 training positions could be filled, but given the current challenges in finding young people for training positions, this is not an easy task. The value of dual training has always been high, particularly in the Baden-Württemberg area. In 2019, 54.4% of an age cohort began training, and the total number of trainees was around 1.33 million, as BIBB reports.

However, the pandemic has also hit the training market hard. In 2020, the number of newly concluded training contracts fell by 11% to under 500,000, and there was an increase in unfilled training positions. This shows that the challenge of finding suitable trainees still exists, making Loock-Hummel's efforts all the more remarkable.

  • Ausbildungsangebote sind auf 527.400 gesunken.
  • 29.300 Bewerber galten als unversorgt.
  • 14,7% der 20- bis 34-Jährigen hatten keinen Berufsabschluss.

In order to overcome these challenges, “Schwörer Haus” has launched various projects and school collaborations. The company is also present at trade fairs and operates its own Instagram channel to specifically target young people.

Personal development and role of parents

Loock-Hummel emphasizes the enormous importance of personal development during training compared to studying. She sees the training period as a protected space that offers trainees advantages and enables them to develop their skills. Parents also play an important role, especially in holiday care, which underlines the family involvement in the young people's education.

It is a special award that Loock-Hummel receives for her work. Your commitment is recognized not only by the award, but also by the letters of recommendation from former trainees, one of which is particularly moving.
