May devotion at the crossroads: Pray and celebrate together in Steinheim!

On Saturday, May 24th, 2025, the Catholic Workers' Movement (KAB) invites you to the traditional May devotion at the crossroads between Steinheim and Forsthof. This event combines prayer with a relaxing walk in nature and is intended to commemorate Mary's life. Members of the Steinheim Murr Catholic parish as well as those interested are welcome to celebrate the service together in a contemplative atmosphere and to get together comfortably afterwards. This is reported by the Stuttgart News.

The KAB, which emerged from a merger of workers' associations with the support of the Mainz Bishop von Ketteler, not only operates in Steinheim, but also has a global dimension. The KAB is committed to areas of work, social and family policy and offers an educational program for different age groups. The movement addresses social issues and advocates for the interests of its members, such as: Catholic workers' movement in Düsseldorf explained.

The history of KAB Steinheim-Murr

The Steinheim-Murr local group, which was founded in 1966, is part of the Holy Spirit congregation and is therefore closely linked to the KAB at the diocesan level. The group began its work with 60 committed women and men under the name Katholisches Werkvolk. In 1971, this initiative gave rise to the umbrella organization of the KAB, which renamed the local group and focused its activities. Regular events, such as the May devotions and the Advent celebration, strengthen the members' sense of community and expand the spiritual offerings for the community Bottwartal Catholic Church emphasized.

The May devotion at the Wayside Cross is not only a spiritual experience, but also an opportunity to enjoy the beauty of nature and exchange ideas with other community members. The approximately 900 meter long route to the crossroads, accessible via Klosterstrasse and Holzweg in Steinheim, offers all participants a good opportunity for reflection and shared prayer.

After the service there will be a social gathering that will also strengthen this community. This tradition underlines the social cohesion and exchange of faith within the KAB and the Holy Spirit congregation and shows how important such events are for the spiritual life of the members.
