Young, dynamic, determined: Kraning is running for Oberstefeld!

Kai Kraning, the 29-year-old building authority manager for the municipality of Oberstefeld, has announced his candidacy for mayor. This new election became necessary because the previous incumbent, Markus Kleemann, was elected mayor of Sindelfingen. The election to fill the office will take place on October 12, 2025. Kraning is the only candidate and sees himself as responsible for continuing the positive development of the community.

With extensive experience of a total of seven years in public administration, Kraning has made a name for himself over the past four years as head of the building authority in Oberstefeld. Planned projects and measures

One of Kraning's central concerns is the examination of the renovation or new construction of the volunteer fire department's equipment house. He is also planning a comprehensive digitalization of local administration with the aim of making Oberstefeld a “digital spot”. He also intends to promote short, safe and barrier-free routes in the community.

Another highlight of his agenda is supporting the construction of the Bottwartalbahn and the planning of a regional transport project. The urban development of the Bottwarwiesen area is particularly important to him, where two daycare centers and possible space for assisted living are to be built.

Commitment and challenges

Kraning would like to activate the Stiftskeller with various cultural offerings and sees it as important to create living spaces and meeting places for young people. To achieve this, he calls for direct input from the younger generation. Strengthening voluntary commitment and cooperation between the administration and the clubs are also of central importance to him.

In his reflections, Kraning emphasizes the current financial challenges facing the community. The renovation of the town hall has to wait, the renovation of the streets is proving difficult and there is a lack of space for businesses to set up.

The time has come for Kraning to set an example for continuity, reliability and citizen-oriented further development. Born in October 1995, he lives with his partner in Asperg and finds balance through basketball, fitness and hiking. He has also been active as a voluntary lay judge at the Stuttgart Regional Court since 2024.

Kraning sees his connection to the community as well as his willingness to tackle the challenges by listening, tackling and shaping as a solid basis for his application for the mayor's office in Oberstefeld.
