After the devastating heavy rain that caused massive damage in large parts of southern Germany on June 2, 2024, most hiking trails in the Swabian Forest have now been reopened. Current situation of the hiking trails

The total costs for the renovation of the hiking trails in Welzheim, Rudersberg and Althütte are estimated at 300,000 to 400,000 euros. A committee of experts, led by the district administration, is coordinating the restoration of the affected hiking trails.

But despite these difficulties, the city of Welzheim has begun restoring additional paths, even if this will take time.
