Train ride in Göppingen: Impulses for rural areas!
Today, June 5, 2025, the Baden-Württemberg Minister of Agriculture Peter Hauk (CDU) invites you to a joint train trip in Göppingen. This is a special opportunity to present concrete rural projects at four selected stations on the Filstalbahn. The focus here is on organic and organic farming as well as measures to promote structure. This initiative aims to highlight the importance of rural areas for the future of Baden-Württemberg and to emphasize its ecological and economic relevance, as Hauk himself emphasized: “The people in rural areas are crucial for its future.”
The Economics Ministers' Conference, which typically takes place twice a year, also takes place in Stuttgart. All economics ministers and senators from the federal states come together to discuss increasing enthusiasm for entrepreneurship and to develop suggestions and measures. This meeting aims to further promote economic development in Germany.
Projects in rural areas
Minister Hauk has already taken a similar train trip on the Zollernalb Railway from Hechingen to Albstadt, where a variety of projects were presented using four stations as an example. In Jungingen he stopped at the Vornagelhof, which specializes in breeding Aberdeen-Angus cattle. High-quality gourmet meat is produced here, and the farm contributes to the preservation of the cultural landscape and biodiversity. In addition, the Junginger pasture forest is grazed by Angus cattle, which contributes to the biotope diversity. In Veringenstadt, measures for internal structural and social development were presented, with the “Space for New” initiative receiving special mention.
In Sigmaringen, eventful local recreation and tourism projects on the banks of the Danube were visited. The Sigmaringen municipal utilities also presented innovative projects for mobility and climate protection in rural areas. Hauk emphasized that mobility plays a key role in the future viability of rural areas. His visit to Albstadt took him to the technology workshop, which enables startups and established companies to network. 3.5 million euros in funding were made available for this facility. Furthermore, a follow-up project, the technology factory, will receive financial support of 750,000 euros from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).
Sporting events in the evening
On the evening of June 5th, Stuttgart will also be dominated by sport when the second semi-final of the Nations League playoff round will be held. Spain will face France to determine which team will advance to the final and battle Germany for third place. Such sporting events contribute to the attractiveness of the city of Stuttgart and its region and at the same time promote cohesion in society.
The upcoming events and projects illustrate how important the topics of rural development and economic cooperation are for the future of Baden-Württemberg. Investments and initiatives like those led by Minister Hauk are fundamental building blocks for a sustainable and prosperous region.
