On Monday night, around 1:20 a.m., there was a robbery during the Wildeshauser Guild Festival in which a 20-year-old man from Hanover became the victim. According to information from Tixio, the young man's wallet was stolen from his trouser pocket while he was partying in the festival tent. When the injured party wanted to confront the unknown perpetrator, he struck and fled unrecognized with the stolen wallet.

The victim's credit card was then misused to make several purchases, prompting police to search for witnesses and appeal for information. The incident casts a shadow over the popular festival, which is usually characterized by a special atmosphere and many visitors.

Crowds of visitors and security precautions

The guild festival in Wildeshausen attracts many people who want to have a fun time. As news.de reports, the Wildeshausen fire department remains ready for action at all times despite the influx of visitors. Although some emergency services take part in the festival themselves, fixed standbys are set up on all days. Several vehicles are staffed around the clock to ensure rapid response in the event of an emergency.

Jannik Stiller, the fire department's press spokesman, said that operations are also necessary on public holidays and special events. “The fire service doesn’t end at the festival tent; many comrades volunteer to ensure the safety of visitors,” continued Stiller. The fire department appeals to visitors to show mutual consideration and wishes everyone a safe and happy guild festival.
