Hero's Journey II: Großbottwar rocks at the World Music Festival in Innsbruck!

On June 13, 2025, the “Hero’s Journey II – Off to New Shores” event organized by the Harmonika Association e.V. Großbottwar-Oberstenfeld took place in picturesque Großbottwar. This special event marked the start of an exciting journey to the 14th World Music Festival in Innsbruck, where participants were registered for the international competition more than a year ago. After a successful spring concert and a final rehearsal in Großbottwar, the members of the club gathered to board their coach at 9 a.m. on Thursday morning, packed with instruments and luggage.

After the tour group arrived in Innsbruck, they spent the evening in a restaurant where they had the opportunity to meet the composer Ian Watson. On Friday, the day began with a dress rehearsal at the Innsbruck Music School, where the participants prepared for their performance in front of an international jury. These rehearsals took place in historic rooms known for their excellent acoustics, which enabled the musicians to prepare optimally.

City tour and recreational measures

In order to give the participants a little break, the Harmonica Association organized a city tour. The musicians had the opportunity to explore Innsbruck and visit the impressive Bergisel ski jump. On the day of the performance at the Innsbruck Trade Fair, which took place with great support from numerous fans, the musicians were able to present their performance full of confidence.

Saturday was all about relaxation. The participants took a trip to the “Muttereralm” valley station, where they could choose between circular hikes and gondola rides. Cooling down on the alpine pasture, followed by the descent with mountain carts, was particularly popular. The day was rounded off with the “Evening of Nations” at the Congress Innsbruck, where a variety of accordion concerts took place.
