SENSATIONAL DECLINE: Solar industry on the brink of collapse – bankruptcies looming!

APOCALYPSE FOR THE SOLAR INDUSTRY! After years of EXPLOSIVE growth, great misfortune is now befalling the photovoltaic industry in Germany! The shocking numbers cannot be denied: In the first half of 2025, new installations of photovoltaic systems were reduced by a shocking 15 percent compared to the previous year! This catastrophic news has trapped solar companies in the unrelenting grip of crisis, with PRIVATE ROOF SYSTEMS suffering the most brutal losses - a dramatic decline of over 50 percent!

As Ludwigsburg24 reports, the industry is threatened with a devastating wave of bankruptcies that no one can overlook! Peter Knuth, the concerned chairman of the Federal Association of the Solar Trade (BDSH), urgently warns of a coming market shakeout that will mercilessly weed out weak providers. “2025 is ticked off for us,” swears Knuth, while fears continue to build up in the industry.

WHEN WILL THE END COME?

The cruel reality is that providers who are unable to revolutionize their own cost structures will most likely end up insolvent! A record increase of over 16 gigawatts in solar energy was achieved in 2024, but now companies are fighting for survival! The popularity of large open-space solar parks and small balcony power plants cannot conceal this disastrous situation for private rooftop systems, because this category is on the edge of the abyss!

The BDSH reports alarming developments: more and more installation companies, including well-known companies such as Eigensonne, Envoltec and Enersol, have already gone bankrupt. Solar startups like Zolar and Otovo are also facing dramatic restructuring and a ghost town of jobs. Amid these uncertain times, the BDSH has little hope that the situation will stabilize soon, despite all the government's efforts to encourage investment.

THE EXTENSION IS DRAMATIC!

According to Capital, the expansion of solar systems began strongly at the beginning of the year, but from March onwards this fell below 1000 megawatts per month - a catastrophic development! The alarm bells are ringing loudly as Energy Minister Katherina Reiche is even considering canceling the feed-in tariff for new solar systems! The installed capacity in Germany had reached around 107 gigawatts by the end of June 2025, but this is far from enough to achieve the ambitious goals!

The worst news doesn't come alone: The Renewable Energy Act envisages an increase in installed capacity to 215 gigawatts by the end of 2030. But the current expansion falls dramatically short of the required expansion path. The country is waiting for a turnaround, but time is running out!

And it gets even worse! According to Solarwirtschaft, the installed storage capacity in Germany is completely inadequate at just 6.2 GWp annually. The total storage capacity of 19.1 GWh is a drop in the ocean in view of the catastrophic developments in the photovoltaics industry.

Conclusion: The solar industry is on the edge of the abyss! While people hope for clean energy, there is no guarantee that companies can weather the storm. The shock is deep, and the question remains: Who will have to announce the next tragic bankruptcy? Let's wait for the dramatic developments!
