State road 1125: Major closure from June 22nd between Sachsenheim and Bietigheim!
State road 1125 between Sachsenheim and Bietigheim-Bissingen will be completely closed from June 22, 2025 for extensive renovation work. This measure, which was announced well in advance, is necessary to fundamentally renew the road and improve road safety. The experts from the Stuttgart Regional Council are responsible for the renovation, and they plan the course of the project and the associated effects in detail.
The work is scheduled to last until October 2025 and includes, among other things, the creation of a special bus lane and the adaptation of various junctions along the L 1125. In addition, a comprehensive renovation of the drainage facilities will be carried out. The renovation begins at the junction with K 1653, the end of Bietigheim, and will progress gradually towards Sachsenheim. Particular attention is also being paid to improving the cycle path connection between Metterzimmern and Bietigheim through a crossing aid.
Information event for traders
In order to inform residents and businesses about the upcoming construction work, the Stuttgart regional council is inviting people to an information event. This will take place on April 8, 2025 at 7:00 p.m. on the ground floor of the Schmids Domino Home Company furniture store at Max-Eyth-Straße 2, Sachsenheim. Admission begins at 6:30 p.m. Experts will speak this evening about the effects of the construction work and how residents and businesses can best respond.
In addition to the renewal of the road, the construction work also includes the extension of the road separation in the area of the JET petrol station and the laying of empty pipes through Netze BW in the area of the industrial road. Completion of the work is scheduled for October 2025, although residents and commuters should expect temporary restrictions during this time.
