A serious traffic accident occurred on Wednesday evening on federal highway 290 near Niederstetten in the Main-Tauber district. A 26-year-old driver had to avoid an oncoming car that had previously avoided a deer and thus crossed into the oncoming lane. To avoid a collision, the young man drove his vehicle onto the grass verge.
As a result, the 26-year-old lost control of his car, which rolled over several times and ended up on its roof. The impact was so violent that the entire engine block was torn out of the vehicle. Fortunately, the driver was able to free himself from the wreckage and was later taken to hospital by a rescue helicopter with serious injuries. The police estimate the material damage at around 10,000 euros as the car was completely destroyed in the accident.
