Early on Sunday morning, September 28, 2025, an abandoned backpack and a pair of shoes on the Tauber Island playground in Königshofen alerted the security forces at the local trade fair. At around 6:00 a.m. they had the suspicious items confiscated and immediately started looking for the owner. They discovered footprints that led to the nearby Tauber, but no one was visible in the area, which further dramatized the situation.
