Triathlon sensation in Ingolstadt: Nils Huckschlag dominates!

The Ingolstadt triathlon over the popular middle distance took place on June 1, 2025. In light rain and at 8 a.m. the starting signal was fired for a total of 2,200 athletes who competed over three distances in Klenzepark. Mayor Michael Kern gave the signal for the start of this exciting competition, whose participants showed a lot of passion and fighting spirit.

Nils Huckschlag from Darmstadt prevailed over the middle distance of 1.9 km swimming, 86 km cycling and 20 km running and took victory. He showed an impressive performance, particularly on the running course, first catching up with Niklas Ludwig, who had taken the lead on the cycling course, and further expanding his lead. Ludwig's strong start, in which he completed the bike course with a lead of 38 seconds over Laurin Wehrle and 47 seconds over Huckschlag, was ultimately not enough to secure victory.

The Medal Winners

The placings for men were as follows:

  • 1. Nils Huckschlag (Darmstadt)
  • 2. Niklas Ludwig
  • 3. Felix Hentschel (Bamberg)

The women also showed great performances, with Jana Uderstadt from Darmstadt taking first place. She was followed by Carolin Meyer from Jena in second place and Olivia Keizer from Switzerland in third place.

Competition details and rules

The event was led by a competition jury made up of judges from the DTU and the regional association. By registering, participants acknowledged the competition regulations, including the anti-doping regulations and safety regulations. In particular, the technical safety of the equipment was the responsibility of the athletes.

On the bike course, the participants had to observe several overtaking bans, especially in particularly critical areas such as the bike ascent and descent. Medical care was provided by the BRK and the Ingolstadt water rescue service in order to be able to react quickly in the event of emergencies. In addition, unofficial result lists were posted in the finish area during the competition, while the final results were available on the Triathlon Ingolstadt website.

Overall, the Ingolstadt Triathlon 2025 was characterized not only by the sporting achievements of the athletes, but also by the commitment of the organizers and the audience, who followed the competition up close.
