The city festival in Süßen is just around the corner and promises to be a highlight in the event calendar for 2025. From July 10th to 13th, 2025, the city will once again be the scene of a wide range of activities, cultural performances and community festivals and lives under the motto: “From clubs for clubs”. The program begins on Thursday evening at 7:30 p.m. with an international folklore evening in the Kulturhalle, organized by the Swabian Alb Association. Here, visitors can look forward to traditional dances and performances that represent the cultural diversity of the region.

Diverse program items for young and old

The family concert “The Magical World of Mr. Alexander” will follow on Friday at 7 p.m. in the Cultural Hall. The evening continues with a colorful festival opener event around the cultural hall, where the focus is on live music, culinary offerings and dancing.

The official opening of the city festival takes place on Saturday at 4:00 p.m. with a traditional tapping of the barrel. Immediately afterwards, the Guardian Angel Run and various relay races take place, which involve the local community and create enthusiasm. The Saturday evening will be rounded off with musical entertainment on the festival stages and promises to be a special experience.

Spiritual graduation and traditions

Sunday begins at 9:30 a.m. with an ecumenical service in the garden of the Protestant Ulrichskirche, followed by the continuation of the festivities at 10:30 a.m. Sunday's highlights include the traditional cock dance at 4 p.m. and the highly anticipated duck race at 5 p.m. This special event is taking place for the 25th time and is very popular. This year, participation and the competition for the best-designed ducks will once again be supported by sponsors, while the ducks themselves will be tested for a successful run over the mill wheel, as swp.de reports.

A small amusement park from the Roschmann company also ensures that younger visitors don't miss out and can enjoy numerous play opportunities. The events are organized by local clubs and aim to promote and strengthen club life in Süßen.
