At the Hotel Fulda Mitte, guests can expect an enjoyable break with freshly brewed coffee from the Reinholz coffee roastery and a selection of regional snacks. The popular coffee break, which begins at 10:30 a.m., offers a buffet in the morning and afternoon that leaves nothing to be desired. The snacks are prepared with milk from “Hessische Schlüchtern” and honey from Engelhelmser Honig and represent the hotel’s regional ties.
In the afternoon, guests can look forward to homemade cakes and ice cream from Perilli. The hotel has placed a great focus on regionality since 2021/22 and presents over 12 product groups from local producers on the menu. This also includes beers from the Hochstift brewery and spirits from the Schlitzer distillery. These foods are part of a comprehensive sustainability concept aimed at the health of the planet and guests. The hotel also sources most of its electricity from its own PV system and is certified annually by the World Travel Tourism Council (WTTC).
Promote enjoyment in the region
A notable feature of the hotel is the close cooperation with local craft companies and the training of trainees from the region. A third of the guests are conference participants, while business travelers and individual travelers also visit the hotel. The coffee break is 90 percent homemade, with an offering that attracts an average of 50 guests and can serve up to 200 people when fully occupied. When the weather is nice, the terrace invites you to enjoy the afternoon break outdoors, which can accommodate up to 70 guests.
The hotel, which has existed since 1992 and has been privately run since March 1, 2016, is very popular not only with hotel guests, but also with Fulda residents. The restaurant is also open to local residents, although it can get crowded with a busy meeting area.
Regionality and support from the city
The city of Fulda has launched the FOLL REGIONAL program to promote regional gastronomy, which provides subsidies for the purchase of regional food. The aim of this program is to increase the culinary diversity in the region and to emphasize the quality and taste of Fulda. Catering businesses that participate predominantly use products from producers or processing companies located within a 50 km radius of Fulda.
