Lublin invests PLN 30 million in schools: renovations start now!

The city of Lublin has introduced impressive measures to improve school infrastructure. Almost PLN 30 million will be used to finance renovation and investment work in schools and kindergartens. This initiative aims to create a renovated and safe learning environment for students, which is expected to be completed before the start of the new school year. Tomasz Fulara, Deputy Mayor of Lublin, emphasizes the need to adapt educational spaces to the needs of children and young people in order to optimize their learning conditions.

The planned works include extensive renovations and modernizations in various facilities, affecting both external and internal infrastructure. The main projects include the renovation of bathrooms in several kindergartens and the VI. High school and the modernization of sports facilities at primary school No. 33 and ZSO No. 4. Other important measures include refreshing floors and parquets in gymnasiums, improving the technical infrastructure, including electrical and ventilation systems, and creating accessibility by building platforms for wheelchair users at SOSW No. 1.

Extensive investments in educational infrastructure

Beyond the current measures, the city has increased the total value of educational investments and renovations in schools to over PLN 85 million. This sum covers a wide range of projects, including new construction, conversions and thermal modernization of schools and sports facilities. The city's goal is to further improve the learning conditions for students, as lublin.eu reports.

Among the largest investments, the construction of a new gymnasium at the I. Lyceum Staszica stands out, the cost of which amounts to PLN 13.6 million. Construction work on the gymnasium is already in full swing and the building shell is expected to be completed by the end of June. Another notable investment is the expansion of primary school No. 52 by two segments, which is currently in the planning phase and has a contract value of PLN 17.9 million.

Additionally, new outdoor gyms will be set up at SP No. 29 and XXX LO as part of participatory budgeting, which will further improve sports opportunities for students. The comprehensive renovation of the school kitchens in various schools is also being pushed forward in order to optimize catering for the students.

Future projects

Looking into the future, some of these investments, such as the redesign of sports fields and the modernization of the athletics hall at ZS Elektronik, are planned and should be completed in the fall or first quarter of 2026. Construction of a new building for Special Education Elementary School No. 26 is also underway, and completion is expected by June 2027.

With these comprehensive investments, the city of Lublin shows a strong commitment to the education of its young citizens and to improving learning conditions in schools, which those responsible see as a decisive step in the right direction. Citizens and school communities can look forward to the changes ahead.
