Big benefit concert for Connolly: tickets available from Wednesday!
Tickets for the highly anticipated 'Ceol for Connolly' fundraiser concert go on sale on October 15, 2025. The event, announced by Catherine Connolly at Vicar Street, takes place on Monday October 20th. With an impressive list of performing artists including The Mary Wallopers, Christy Moore, Madra Salach, Huartan, SexyTadgh, Cable Boy, Shampain and Emmet Kirwan, the concert promises to be a highlight of the political music scene. Kevin Twomey, co-host of the “I’m Grand Mam” podcast, will host the event. Connolly is calling on Instagram to mobilize young people to win the election, while a national youth campaign is set to launch in Dublin the same morning. In particular, participants in this campaign will receive a discounted ticket for just €10.
This event is not the first fundraising event to benefit Connolly's presidential campaign. Previously, the 'Connolly Céilí' took place at the Button Factory, which featured well-known artists such as Mary Coughlan, Lisa O'Neill and Junior Brother. Another additional event, 'Ceol & Craic for Connolly', was planned for the evening of October 14th at the Grand Social, bringing together young talent such as Eoghan Ó Ceannabháin, Eva Carroll, Síomha Hennessy and Aoife Kelly. Tickets for the 'Ceol for Connolly' event are available via Connolly's website, increasing accessibility for campaign supporters. Hotpress reports said the event provides an important opportunity to strengthen support for Connolly.
More fundraising events
Parallel to the 'Ceol for Connolly' concert, another fundraising event for Catherine Connolly's presidential campaign will take place at The Commercial in Limerick on October 16th. There will be a diverse group of artists on stage, including Shroomie, who will perform personal folk-punk songs and later appear as lead singer of Codeye. Emo singer-songwriter Eoin Ryan, who was once the bassist for the band '50 Foot Woman', will share new songs from his forthcoming EP. In addition, the group Nósanna Neamhspleácha will perform with a violinist and harpist. The highlight of the evening will be provided by headliner Codeye, who will be giving their first concert in Limerick since 2022, after a performance at the Merton Toad Fest in Southampton. Limerick Voice informs that entry is based on donations and that the event begins at 7:00 p.m.
Catherine Connolly is the first woman to hold the position of Leas-Ceann Comhairle in Ireland and has received support from various political parties including Sinn Féin, the Social Democrats, the Labor Party, the Green Party, People Before Profit and independent Oireachtas members. The Limerick event is being organized by LimerickForConnolly, who are urgently looking for volunteers to support their campaign. These two fundraising events are crucial to mobilizing voters ahead of the presidential election in late October.
