This coming weekend, May 24th and 25th, 2025, will see the highly anticipated Asparagus and strawberry festival the Dunnerloch-Zotteli in Grenzach-Wyhlen. On these days, the Wyhlen Gymnastics Association sports field will be the scene of culinary delights and a variety of entertainment.
The event begins on Saturday, May 24th at 3 p.m. Visitors can look forward to a variety of asparagus variations, including classic dishes such as asparagus with Schäufele, as well as vegetarian options and a cake counter with strawberry creations. The food is freshly prepared on site by a kitchen team of 14 to 15 people, so guests can watch the food being prepared in a show kitchen. Culinary highlights await guests in an appealing atmosphere until midnight, with the kitchen being open until 10 p.m.
Diverse program and live music
The first day of the festival also offers a colorful entertainment program. The youth orchestra from the Grenzach Music Association will perform from 3:30 p.m., followed by a hip-hop dance group from the Gymnastics Association at 5 p.m. The evening ends with the popular sax key band, which creates a good atmosphere with dance and rock music. On Sunday, May 25th, the festival will continue at 11 a.m. with a morning pint concert by the Öflingen Music Association.
The musical contributions continue with various performances until the end of the festival at 5 p.m., including another encounter with the hip-hop dance group and the Fahrnau music association, which will delight with rock ballads and marches. A special highlight this year is the variety of drinks, including wine and champagne fountains as well as a beer fountain. There are also numerous children's activities for younger guests, including a carousel and creative play stations.
Regionality and sustainability
The culinary delicacies come from regional suppliers who guarantee fresh products. The Obsthof Brändlin from Efringen-Kirchen supplies the event with freshly peeled asparagus, while strawberries are delivered from the Wochner company from Merdingen. The Kalbacher butcher shop and the Kunzelmann bakery from Inzlingen, which provide delicious bread and cakes, also ensure your physical well-being.
