New Café Kränzle”: meeting point for Heilbronners in the main cemetery!
The Heilbronn Community Foundation recently launched a new meeting place: the “Café Kränzle”. This innovative offer takes place on a lawn in front of Heilbronn's main cemetery and is aimed at visitors who are looking for a conversation after a walk or visit to the cemetery. There are four garden tables with chairs as well as a small coffee and cake counter. On particularly busy Sunday afternoons, two additional benches have already been provided to meet demand. With the “Café Kränzle”, the foundation aims to bring people together and create a space for exchange, as drs.de reports.
The idea for this meeting came from a letter from an older woman, which shows how important dialogue between generations is. Angelika Biesdorf, member of the foundation's board, explains that the offer is starting small but is already receiving positive feedback from visitors. Some are enthusiastic and say that they often feel bored at home. The community foundation also receives support from Hermine Baur-Ihle from the Heilbronn City Church, who also actively engages in conversation with the guests.
The role of community foundations
The Heilbronn Community Foundation was founded in 2004 and has since developed into an important institution in the city. Since its founding, the foundation has invested around 4.6 million euros in various projects that are particularly aimed at supporting children and young people. The foundation is committed to the goal of building a capital stock “by citizens for citizens” in order to support charitable purposes and promote voluntary commitment in the region.
