Joe Colletti leaves Göppingen: emotional farewell after a successful year!

Gioacchino “Joe” Colletti has decided to leave Göppinger SV. In an emotional post, he said that this decision was not easy for him. Colletti was assistant coach in Göppingen for a year and emphasizes that his departure has nothing to do with Göppinger SV's relegation to the top league. He described his time at GSV as unforgettable and last season as an honor for him. He has not yet had any discussions with other clubs to examine his future options, but Colletti could imagine not taking on a new challenge until the winter break. His long-term goal remains to acquire the A license, for which he needs at least another year as an assistant coach in the regional league. This is reported by the Swabian.

Before his involvement in Göppingen, Colletti was a trainer at the SGM Union Wasseralfingen and TV Neuler. At Wasseralfingen he spent a successful season with his brother Angelo, who acts as a playing assistant coach. Under her leadership, the SGM finished the season in 6th place after being in 12th place at the winter break. The Colletti brothers contributed significantly to the success by scoring 62 of the 87 goals together. Angelo was top scorer with 33 goals, while Joe scored 29 goals. Nevertheless, the defensive line with 67 goals conceded was a weakness of the team, which they would like to prove for the coming season. The SGM plans to move into the top two next season and has already signed several new recruits, including Luis Brunnhuber, Jeremy Ulmer, Marius Weber and Marcel Weber. This comes from an article in Swabian Post out.

Coach changes and goals

While Colletti is still contemplating his future, the SGM and its supporters have the remaining time to wait in the hope of a positive sports season. Despite the relegation suffered, the goal is clear: promotion to the district league should be achieved. However, Colletti's current situation makes the path there uncertain, especially since no concrete discussions have yet taken place with potential new clubs.

The regional league is under constant scrutiny regarding coaching changes, which may open up new opportunities for Colletti. A complete overview of the current coaching changes in the Regionalliga Bayern is available on the website Transfer market to find.
