Art on the move: Uferriss” exhibition opens in Geislingen!

The anticipation for the exhibition “Uferriss” is growing: On June 1, 2025 at 11:00 a.m., the gallery in the old building in Geislingen an der Steige will open its doors for a special artistic event. The show, which is presented by the talented scholarship holders of the Esslingen district, offers insights into the artistic works of Lennart Cleemann, Anna Lehrer and Ivan Zozulya. All three artists studied at the renowned Academy of Fine Arts Stuttgart and bring individual perspectives to the joint exhibition.

“Uferriss” addresses the tensions and overlaps in the artistic positions of the three artists. The title itself symbolizes the crack between solid shore ice and moving ice floes, which illustrates the transitions between stability and departure as well as between individual attitude and collective approach. This topic will be examined in detail in the opening discussion, which will take place after the welcome by Annika Grüner, a member of the art advisory board. In this way, visitors can gain deeper insights into the working methods and the artistic background of the works on offer.

Opening times and admission

The exhibition will be on view until July 6, 2025. The gallery is open Tuesday to Sunday between 2:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. There will also be an additional opening time on Whit Monday, June 9th. Admission to the exhibition is free, which makes the eventual discovery of contemporary art accessible to a wider public.

The Geislingen City Museum invites its visitors to experience the region's diverse art scene. The museum, which provides comprehensive information about the art events, can be reached at stadtmuseum-geislingen.de.

Art in context

The discussion about contemporary art is also very influential in other cities, especially in Berlin. With hundreds of galleries ranging from fine art to media art to light installations, the capital presents an exciting art scene. Institutions such as the Academy of Arts and the House of World Cultures promote intensive discourse and exchange about socio-political issues that are reflected in art.

There are also numerous sculptures by important artists such as Richard Serra and Keith Haring in public spaces in Berlin. A lively young art scene can be seen at Urban Spree, while private collections, such as the Boros Collection, are open to the public. Regular events such as the Gallery Weekend and the Berlin Art Week attract art enthusiasts, artists and collectors from all over the world. More information is available at visitberlin.de.

The upcoming exhibition “Uferriss” in Geislingen not only offers a platform for the scholarship holders, but also invites them to think beyond art and deal with topics that are relevant both locally and globally.
