TSV Weilheim/Teck: Championship celebrated – promotion to the district league!

On May 26, 2025, TSV Weilheim/Teck won the championship in the A2 Neckar/Fils district league, even though no other results could be decisive in their favor with two match days to go. Coach Salvatore De Rosa was pleased with the clear promotion, for which a return to the district league was formulated as a clear goal in advance. “We achieved the goal with hard work and targeted squad planning,” reported De Rosa. The team scored an impressive 97 goals in 28 games last season and only suffered defeat three times.

The team will now benefit from a dominant second half of the season, which was characterized by a combination of class and fitness. These successes will also be honored with an end-of-season celebration, which is scheduled to take place next Sunday. De Rosa is also planning a possible trip to Mallorca to celebrate promotion.

Changes in the squad

In order to establish itself in the district league, TSV Weilheim has already signed six external newcomers. These include Mike Tausch and Chris Bauer from TSV Oberensingen, Felix Ruess and Robin Beck from TSV Wendlingen as well as Gabriele Giaccobe (TSV Ötlingen) and Lukas Voss (TSG Salach). At the same time, the club will record a number of departures, including Michele Latte, who is moving to AC Catania, and the two players Tufan Inci and Davor Messerschmidt, who are ending their careers. The club also lost Johannes Hartig, whose destination is still unknown.

For the upcoming 2025/26 season, the goal is to stay in the district league without wanting to hide as a promoted team. This step shows the club's ambitions and the clear desire to assert itself at a higher level.

A loss for TSV Weilheim

Given the current challenges in football, it is crucial for clubs like TSV Weilheim to develop new ideas and concepts. According to a report from the DFB Academy, it is necessary to involve all members in shaping the club's future and to develop a strong club profile. The inclusion of all age groups in sporting and non-sporting activities is intended to enrich the offering and contribute to identification with the club.

As the DFB Academy article emphasizes, it is essential that clubs recognize and specifically exploit their potential in order to be successful in modern football. TSV Weilheim sees itself as having this responsibility and will continue to strive to expand its offering and grow sustainably in the future.
