SCANDAL: 250 kg of garbage at the Neckar Clean-Up – Take part on September 13th!

Shocking news from Plochingen! The next NECKAR CLEAN-UP will take place on September 13th and the calls to join in are louder than ever! The shocking truth is that 70% of the waste that ends up in our oceans comes to us via rivers like the Rhine, Europe's LARGEST WASTE transport river. To counteract this, the organizers are mobilizing helpers who are ready to make the “Clean Neckarknie” shine again! Stuttgarter Nachrichten reports on spectacular campaigns that have been launched since 2018! But is that enough?

The numbers are shocking: up to 4 million tons of PLASTIC WASTE end up in the ocean via rivers around the world - that's equivalent to the weight of a TOTAL OF FOUR HUNDRED EIFFEL TOWERS! This is not just an environmental disaster, but a call for everyone to save the earth! But it's also catastrophic in our own backyard. Over 90 percent of the rivers, lakes and streams in Germany are at great risk from littering. WHO would want to live in such a polluted world?

A call to action!

The Neckar Clean-Up cleaning campaign is scheduled to take place on September 13th from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Volunteers are warmly welcome and urgently needed! If you also want to make a difference, come to the small forest parking lot at the Otto Konz Bridge, Deizisauer Neckar side, near the B-10 exit. THOMAS LEHR, the city of Plochingen's environmental and river representative, is promoting this incredibly important initiative. EVERYONE HELP to stop the trash polluting our waterways!

Last year, over 250 kg of waste was collected during this impressive campaign - and the main culprit was packaging waste! With your support, this can be exceeded this year too! The Baden-Württemberg state environment minister Thekla Walker and state parliament member Andreas Schwarz were there in 2024 and supported the environmental rescue first hand. Another location, another problem

Wernau is now taking part in the campaign for the first time! Help on the Stadionweg in front of Pizzeria Da Luigi, also at 10 a.m. But don't forget to wear appropriate clothing and sturdy shoes. It is urgently necessary that you also start with your own gloves!
