SENSATION IN PLOCHINGEN: Marquardtfest inspires with music and cuisine!

Things were simmering in Plochingen this week! After a TWO-YEAR FORCED BREAK, the entire city celebrated the MARQUARD FESTIVAL with full passion and unbridled joy! From July 8th to 10th, Plochingen's pedestrian zone was transformed into a dazzling paradise of entertainment and enjoyment! History came to life here – but that was just the beginning!

The festival began with a traditional tapping of the barrel, a truly magnificent event, which was carried out on Friday evening by Mayor Frank Buß and the charming Annette Krämer-Schmid! With the first blow on the barrel they gave the starting signal for an unforgettable weekend that would captivate young and old alike! Everyone was invited to experience this magnificent spectacle!

SENSATIONAL entertainment for everyone!

The musical entertainment was amazing! Two stages, one at the market square and the other at the Fischbrunnen, offered a varied program! On Friday evening, the bands “Clap’s Tool” and “Wishing Well” provided absolute musical highlights! On Saturday the “Flippmanns” and “Strahler 70” set the bar even higher! And if that wasn't enough, the “Rebels in Lederhosen” rocked the audience on Saturday evening!

Sunday had a very special surprise in store! After an ecumenical service that calmed people's minds, various clubs fought for the audience's favor. The Stadtkapelle Plochingen music association livened up the event with rousing brass music versions of well-known hits! A MUST for all music lovers!

Culinary highlights in a class of their own!

And the culinary offerings? They were simply INCREDIBLE! From potato spirals to red sausage to gyros and lahmacun – there was something for every taste! Visitors could help themselves to their heart's content while enjoying the exciting performances! The Marquardt Festival was a festival for all the senses!

The young generation in particular was not left out! Exciting hands-on activities for children, organized by the Pfisterer Foundation, transformed the “Neuer Platz” behind the Old Town Hall into a true play paradise! Here the little ones were able to express their creativity and make unforgettable memories!

An exciting HISTORICAL experience!

The absolute highlight was the historical scene play! At 3 p.m. sharp, Marquardt von Randeck, the legendary local lord from 1371, was carried through the audience on a sedan chair! The goosebumps were literally noticeable! The audience was spellbound by this piece of living history!

Towards the end of the festival, the Plochingen town band and the harmonica friends delighted with a magnificent conclusion! Mayor Frank Buß, visibly enthusiastic, has already announced the preparations for the next Marquardtfest. The anticipation for the next edition is already huge!

All we can say is: The Marquardtfest is an absolute MUST for everyone who wants to experience fun, music, good food and an unforgettable time! The unanimous conclusion: Plochingen was in a party mood and will be again at the next festival!
