Interactive spaceship adventure: Parabolic Theater delights in London!

Immersive theater is on the rise and is one of the most exciting attractions in London Bridge Command of the Parabolic Theater. During an interview at MCM Comic Con London, Owen Kingston, the theater's artistic director, explained the ins and outs of this unique experience. Located in Vauxhall, just opposite the MI6 building, the Parabolic Theater offers an interactive journey through the vastness of space.

The idea of the Parabolic Theater, which was founded in 2016, is to use its productions to build a bridge between art and social and political issues. The shows are not just theater performances, but experience-oriented, interactive formats in which the audience is actively involved in the action. Spectators can explore the stage surroundings and thus personally shape the event. These formats are heavily inspired by science fiction, with some missions incorporating elements of military and diplomatic scenarios.

Interactive missions and experiences

Visitors to Bridge Command can choose between four different mission types: Military, Exploration, Intrigue and Diplomacy. The only challenge: The missions are not classic escape rooms, because the experiences can be repeated several times. With a team, participants can feel what it's like to take command of a spaceship and direct its fate in an interactive setting.

One of the standout features of Parabolic Theater is the live actors who assist and interact with participants during missions. This creates a dynamic experience that turns even the smallest things into an adventure, where player decisions influence the ongoing story. To expand the experience, the theater is planning a third season, expected to begin around the turn of the year.

Expansion and future plans

The Parabolic Theater not only plans to further develop its concept, but is also considering expanding abroad. The USA and Germany in particular could be target markets in the near future. The first steps in this direction are already being considered. Kingston and his team have ambitious plans, including opening a space station for space missions to create additional immersive experiences.

Additionally, the theater offers regular special events with several linked missions. Shows run Tuesday through Sunday, with the theater closed on Mondays. Pricing varies depending on the day of the week, with ticket prices being highest on weekends. New visitors are encouraged to approach things with an open mind and actively participate in the missions.

The immersive theater trend is also growing in other parts of London. Time out lists numerous other innovative shows that also promise viewers exceptional interactivity and experiences. However, Bridge Command stands out for its attention to detail in the production and the creative concept that responds to the needs and wishes of its audience.
