Last Saturday, this year's Erdinger Meister Cup took place on the FV Bellenberg sports grounds, a top-class tournament that attracted a total of 54 Württemberg championship clubs. There were 36 men's and 18 women's teams fighting for the prestigious title. Daniel Schönfeld, chairman of FV Bellenberg, was pleased with the organization and the high number of participants, which made the event a special highlight in the football calendar.
In the men's final, KF Kosova Bernhausen secured victory against FV 09 Nürtingen with a narrow 1-0. The women's final was also exciting: TSV Frommern beat TV Jebenhausen 4-3 in a penalty shootout. These performances once again show the high quality of regional football.
Placements and awards
The third-placed teams in the tournament were 1. FC Heidenheim, who won on nine meters against VfL Herrenberg, and AKV Ludwigsburg, who prevailed with a 2-1 win against SG Sonnenhof Großaspach. In the encounters, the teams SG Kißlegg II and FV Bad Waldsee were eliminated as penultimate in the preliminary round.
FV Molpertshaus, B3 champions, scored 1-0 against FC Burlafingen in the round of 16, but suffered a narrow 1-0 defeat against AKV Ludwigsburg in the quarter-finals. The prizes were presented by Matthias Harzer, a representative of the Württemberg Football Association, and Patrick Themar from Erdinger Weißbräu. The event was also accompanied by a tribute from Oliver Schönfeld, the First Mayor of Bellenberg, and Daniel Schönfeld.
Special prizes for the winners
The winning club teams received a so-called Champions Bundle, which included a team celebration and a brewery tour as well as training balls. In addition, FV 09 Nürtingen and TV Jebenhausen were able to enjoy a beer pong table and beer specialties for a year. The third-place finishers received hoodies from a sponsor in recognition of their performance.
The Erdinger Masters Cup has established itself as a popular and important tournament over the years.
