On June 7, 2025, Telekom broke ground for the fiber optic expansion in Neckartenzlingen. On Danziger Strasse, this celebratory moment marked the beginning of a comprehensive project that will connect over 1,700 households and businesses to the new fiber optic network. The first customers are expected to be able to use their new connection this year, which will significantly improve internet connectivity for the region. The fiber optic expansion is being carried out independently by Telekom and includes the laying of around 30 kilometers of fiber optic cable and the construction of 13 new distributors in the community. In this context, Mayor Melanie Braun emphasized the crucial role of reliable internet connections for the economy and the quality of life of citizens. “The expansion is central to the future viability of our community,” she emphasized.
Expectations and advantages of fiber optic expansion
Once the construction work is completed, around half of all households and businesses in Neckartenzlingen will have a fiber optic connection. The close cooperation between the municipality and Telekom should also ensure that disruption to residents during construction work is kept to a minimum.
