VfR Aalen: Shock departures before the new league season!
Next Saturday, June 22nd, 2025, VfR Aalen will begin preparing for the new season in the top football league at 10.30 a.m. in Greut. The club has made some personnel changes that have occurred in the last few days and weeks.
The departures of five players are particularly noticeable. Matino Schlotterbeck, a 21-year-old defender, is moving to Calcio Leinfelden-Echterdingen. He only had eight appearances for VfR last season. Sadio Dembélé, also a defender, is leaving VfR despite a current contract and moving to FC CSKA 1948 Sofia. The transfer fee remains unknown, but Dembélé has scored one goal in 33 games.
Further departure from home grown
Another homegrown player, Daniel Rapp (20 years old, midfield), is moving to Normannia Gmünd after playing 28 games last season. Striker Mussa Fofanah, who is 22 years old and played 25 games with five goals and three assists for Aalen last season, is moving to FV Illertissen in the Bavarian Regional League. Fofanah has a youth history at FV Illertissen. Finally, 18-year-old goalkeeper Henry Hutzenlaub also leaves VfR and moves to TSG Hofherrnweiler-Unterrombach after making two appearances for the first team.
VfR currently has a number of players without a club for the coming season: Mario Szabo, Nesreddin Kenniche and Lucas Torres Farias are on the list of departures. These transfers are part of a comprehensive summer transfer situation, which is detailed on the Transfermarkt website. According to Transfermarkt, VfR Aalen's transfer balance sheet for the 2024/25 season includes income of 20 and expenses of 19, resulting in an overall balance of ±0.
The current changes in the squad show that VfR Aalen is serious about preparing for the new season and has hopefully made the right decisions to remain competitive.
