Musical sensation Chess” starts the open-air season in Stetten!
The Theater unter den Kuppeln (TudK) in Stetten starts the open-air season on Friday, June 4th, 2025 with the musical “Chess”. This popular piece, created almost four decades ago by Benny Andersson, Björn Ulvaeus and Tim Rice, promises an unforgettable experience. The iconic song “One Night In Bangkok” is announced as “huge fun” and is expected to delight the audience.
A week after the premiere of “Chess,” a production for children is also planned, which underlines the theater’s commitment to a broader target group. The topic of chess is currently very popular in entertainment, especially thanks to the “Tatort” episode “Zugzwang”, which is about a death at a chess tournament in the Alps.
Cast of the musical
The cast of the musical promises great talent. Amelie Brückner, who has been with TudK since 2007, will take on the role of Florence. Heilbronn native Nikolas Rotschedl plays the role of Anatoly Sergievsky and is already in his fourth season at the theater. Christopher Stengele, known for his performances in “Evita” in the past, is also looking forward to the challenge of portraying Anatoly.

- Aylin Mössner: Entwarf das Bühnenbild und spielt Svetlana.
Sascha Zulott, who has been active in the theater since 2014, is directing. He receives support from David Kovacs, who has also been involved with TudK since 2013. Peter Pfeiffer, who has been a member of the orchestra since 2003 and has been chief conductor since 2016, will take over the musical responsibility. Angela Wiedemer will take over the musical direction of the ensemble.
