Full closure in Aichelberg: diversion from June 19, 2025!

From June 19, 2025, there will be significant traffic restrictions in the Stuttgart region. The state of Baden-Württemberg has announced that the roadway on the L1214 in Aichelberg will be renewed. The renovation work is necessary to increase traffic safety and bring the infrastructure up to date. The entire measure is affected by a full closure, which will last until June 22, 2025. The closure begins on Thursday at 4:00 a.m. and ends on Sunday at 2:00 p.m.

Several streets are affected, especially the area around the roundabout on Weilheimer Straße. Here the roadway is being renovated over a length of 410 meters, with the direction from Weilheim an der Teck to Aichelberg being affected. Holzmader Straße in the direction of Holzmaden is also included in this period. In order to direct traffic flows during this time, extensive diversions for cars and trucks will be set up.

Detours and alternative routes

Road users have several options available to them for rerouting. The first option for drivers is via Zeller Straße, Schluchtweg, Bahnhofstraße, Kirchstraße, Holzmadener Straße and back to Zeller Straße. This diversion is approximately 12.7 km long and requires an additional travel time of around 17 minutes.

An alternative route runs along Weilheimer Straße, Holzmader Straße, Aichelberger Straße, Hirtenstraße, Lettenstraße, Turmbergstraße and Karlstraße to Bahnhofstraße. This bypass is shorter, but is 4.1 km and adds about 9 minutes to travel time.

Current traffic information

The measures are based on the latest data from the Baden-Württemberg Road Traffic Center, which was published on June 7, 2025 at 9:45 a.m. This information is constantly updated and can adapt to ensure that road users receive the best possible orientation. It is advisable to check current traffic reports before driving in order to avoid potentially long waiting times.

In addition to the construction work on the L1214, there are numerous construction sites across the country that are affecting traffic. For example, various lanes on the A100 are closed to allow for bridge work, and many other roads in the area are also affected by temporary closures, making it difficult to plan journeys. For a detailed overview of all current construction sites and traffic restrictions, those affected can visit the rbb24 website.

The renovation work in Aichelberg is therefore part of a larger infrastructure project that aims to sustainably improve traffic safety and the quality of life in the region.
