Groundbreaking ceremony for modern Porsche center in Filderstadt!

The official starting signal for the construction of a new Porsche Center in Filderstadt was given today. The groundbreaking ceremony took place with the participation of important personalities such as Christian Schuder, Managing Director of the Porsche Stuttgart GmbH branch, Robert Ader, Managing Director of Porsche Deutschland GmbH, and Sebastian Neuberg, Project Manager at Volkswagen Immobilien. The new center will be built on a site measuring around 9,300 square meters, which is roughly the size of a classic football field. The new building will comprise two floors and offers a gross floor area of over 5,000 square meters.

The ground floor of the new Porsche Center will combine various functions, including exhibition space, sales and service areas as well as a workshop with storage and car wash. Office and social rooms are planned on the upper floor, offering space for a total of 58 modern workstations. The building is heated and cooled with a reversible air-water heat pump, which eliminates the use of fossil fuels. The planned photovoltaic system on the green roof will already cover part of the heat pump's electricity requirements, with an approximate output of 225 kWp.

Sustainability in focus

Additional ecological measures include partial greening of the facade. The outdoor area of the new center will include 41 parking spaces and 14 charging points with a capacity of up to 400 kW. A separate depot building will provide space for 171 vehicles. The project development is carried out by Volkswagen Immobilien, on behalf of Porsche Germany, with the general planning by cruu architecture GmbH and the implementation by Glass GmbH Bauunternehmung. The opening of the new Porsche Center in Filderstadt is planned for autumn 2026.

Another important project by Volkswagen Immobilien is the construction of a new Porsche Center in Leipzig. The groundbreaking ceremony for this recently took place in Sachsenpark Leipzig, in the immediate vicinity of Autobahn 14. This center, which is being developed on behalf of Volkswagen Group Retail Germany (VGRD GmbH), is located on a site of around 11,500 m², which is equivalent to 1.5 football fields. The new building will cover more than 4,000 m² of gross floor space and also include a sales and service area, workshop areas and a warehouse.

Futuristic plans for Leipzig

A car wash and office and social rooms for employees are also planned on the ground floor. Here too, a partially green roof area with a photovoltaic system will be implemented, with an output of around 88 kWp. The new Porsche Center in Leipzig will have a total of 159 parking spaces available, including 34 with a charging capacity of up to 300 A in selected parking spaces. A special goal of this project is to achieve DGNB Gold status for sustainability. Completion of the new location is targeted for the end of 2024.

Overall, the current projects by Porsche and Volkswagen Immobilien illustrate how important sustainable architecture and modern infrastructure have become in the automotive industry. The combination of ecological measures and modern workplaces could set a new standard for future construction projects.
