The Württemberg State Sports Association (WLSB) continued to support construction projects for sports clubs in the Esslingen district this year. A total of 22 local associations will receive funding of around 230,000 euros for various construction projects. These measures are crucial to modernize and maintain the infrastructure in the sports sector.
A total of 334 sports clubs have received funding from the WLSB. The average funding rate is usually 30 percent. However, the money provided this year is not enough to meet demand. Less than half of the supported associations can claim the full quota of 30 percent, and for one in seven projects the quota is even less than 20 percent. A central concern of the WLSB is to offer support to as many clubs as possible. Maximum funding amounts have therefore been set. WLSB President Andreas Felchle appeals to the state government to make more money available in order to better support the clubs in their construction projects. The WLSB represents over 2.4 million members in around 5,700 clubs and is responsible for the administration of state subsidies, the development of sports policy concepts and advice on these matters.
