New coach, new goal: TSV Deizisau starts in the regional league!

The TSV Deizisau women's football team is ready for the start of the new regional league season 2025/2026. After Chris Händgen left the club for FV 09 Nürtingen, Tim Neidhart took over as coach. The 25-year-old Neidhart previously played for the TSV Deizisau men's team in the 2021/2022 season, but had to end his active career due to knee injuries and is now devoting himself to coaching.

Last season, TSV Deizisau finished in eighth place in the regional league. The Deizisau women have set themselves high goals for the coming season: “We want to ensure we stay in the league and continue to play at the top,” explains Neidhart. Thanks to the intensive preparation and good fitness of the players, the new coach is optimistic about the upcoming start of the season.

Personnel changes and expectations

Alexandra Berner is also celebrating an important comeback, returning as a goalkeeping coach after retiring as a player. The squad remains largely unchanged, with only one new addition: Annika Schupp from FC Esslingen. Departures are few and far between, with Melanie Kleiber leaving the club in an unknown direction.

The team has set itself the goal of reaching the final of the district cup and winning the title again. Captain Laura Gleißner emphasizes the shared desire to successfully tackle this challenge. The Deizisau women are particularly motivated to show that they have serious ambitions in the coming competition.

Regional league at a glance

The Region League is the third highest league in German women's football. A total of five separate leagues play in this league. In the past, the champions of the individual leagues were promoted to the 2nd Women's Bundesliga until 2017. From 2025, an innovation will be introduced: all five league champions will be promoted directly to the 2nd Bundesliga. The women of TSV Deizisau are well embedded in the context of this competition and are trying to secure a chance for promotion through good performances.

The new season traditionally begins in August or September and ends in May or June. In every game of the season, each team plays against each other once, which represents an exciting challenge. Points are awarded according to the pattern: win = 3 points, draw = 1 point and defeat = 0 points, with goal difference and goals scored acting as tiebreakers.

The Deizisauer women are looking forward to the start of the season, which takes place at home against VfB Obertürkheim on Sunday at 11 a.m. In this encounter they want to demonstrate their potential to the spectators and get off to a strong start into the new season.
