Julian Glanzer shines at the SVN Junior Cup – a tournament victory for Villingen!
Julian Glanzer recently celebrated notable successes at two prestigious tennis tournaments. The talented player competed in the U21 category at the Youth Open in Sindelfingen and was in good shape. In the first round he defeated Toni Hinker from TC Baiersbronn 6:1, 2:6, 10:4 before knocking out Yannik Maisch from TC Bernhausen 6:4, 6:1 in the semifinals. In the final, Glanzer met Nicolas Pfäfflin from TC Hechingen, who was in first place. In an exciting game, Glanzer lost in the match tiebreak 6:4, 4:6, 2:10, but the performance was still impressive. Just two days later he took part in the SVN Junior Cup in the U16 age group, where he was able to impress again.
Here Glanzer continued his winning streak and reached the semi-finals with two wins. In the decisive game against Fritz Boberg from Berlin he showed great nerve and won 6:4, 4:6, 10:1. In the final he showed his entire class and won clearly against Felix Tretter from TC Raschke Taufkirchen with 6:1, 6:3. His sister Lina Glanzer took part in a youth tournament in Vaihingen/Enz at the same time. She took third place in the U14 category and also showed a strong performance with a quarterfinal win against Zoey Fleischer (6:1, 6:3), but had to admit defeat to eventual tournament winner Mila Hungerbühler in the semifinals. Coach Darko Jurica was positive about the performances of both siblings.
Results at the Villingen Junior Cup
Other talents from the region also showed their skills at the 2nd VS Tennis Academy Junior Cup. At this home tournament for the Blau Weiss Talents, two titles as well as a semi-final and a quarter-final place were achieved. In the U12 junior category, Neyla Fee Schriever from TC BW Villingen prevailed without losing a set. In the final she defeated Valentina Gaspert from Bernhausen 6:4, 6:3.
- Junioren U 12: Anton Laub (Villingen) konnte Jonas Fortun (Württemberg) schlagen, verlor aber gegen den deutschen Spitzenspieler Jaro Schindler.
- Junioren U 14: Maxi Keller (Neu-Villingen) erreichte das Viertelfinale, nachdem er Laurenz Schneider (Bietigheim) besiegen konnte, musste jedoch gegen Robin Müller (Biberach) aufgeben.
- U 16 Jungs: Raffael Rudel siegte gegen Georgios Valsamas (Winnenden) und Jakob Joggerst (Deutscher Jugendmeister im Doppel), verlor jedoch im Halbfinale gegen Paul Kurzenberger.
- U 16 Mädchen: Anastasia Vasylenko spielte eine Altersklasse höher und konnte zudem die deutsche Meisterin U 12 im Matchtiebreak schlagen.
The tournament was attended by many top-class players from all over southern Germany and offered the young talents an excellent platform to demonstrate their skills.
