Federal Congress of Business Seniors: Strong network for founders!

As part of the Federal Congress of Business Seniors, a nationwide umbrella organization was founded today in Böblingen. Almost 1,000 volunteer experts who are in active retirement will support the new structures. These members come from various areas, including industry, trade, crafts, services and the freelance professions. Its central goal is to support business founders, start-ups and companies in the handover and takeover phase. The congress offered the boards of twelve regional organizations the opportunity to exchange ideas and present their strategies, which also met with great interest among the participants, as SZBZ reports.

The work of business seniors is not limited to Congress. A meeting entitled “Early Shift” recently took place in Langenfeld, which was organized by the local economic development agency and the business seniors. Mayor Frank Schneider welcomed around 40 company representatives who took part in a presentation by Michael Flanhardt. The topic: project support for an open-space PV system with the Süß family, Wasserski Langenfeld. A keynote speech on the “transformation of the energy system” followed and was described as a complete success – many new contacts were made (WSLN).

Diverse commitments from business seniors

The exchange between business seniors is also reflected in various other events. On May 19th, discussions on the topic of security in the economy took place at the Bayer Casino in Leverkusen, which was attended by NRW Interior Minister Herbert Reul. He gave a lecture and answered questions from the audience. This dialogue will be continued with a regular lunch snack in order to strengthen the exchange between politics and business.

Ellen Lindner, the new head of the Leverkusen/Rhein-Berg IHK office, was a guest at a monthly meeting in the Leverkusen test factory. Opportunities for joint services for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) were discussed here. Business seniors expect increasing consulting activity in 2023, especially for SMEs, as Norbert Gober from WSL announced.

Professional support and contact maintenance

The business seniors are not only involved in advising young entrepreneurs, but also in adapting companies to market developments. Kähler Armaturen GmbH in Burscheid is a current example where a realignment took place in collaboration with the business seniors. Managing director Tobias Bunse explained the development of his company from a wholesaler to a provider with its own manufacturing expertise.

The business seniors also took part in the IHK Leverkusen-Opladen start-up and young entrepreneur fair. Rita Strasser offered support and advice to young entrepreneurs who rely on valuable expertise in the often challenging start-up phase. The positive feedback from the community reflects the commitment the business seniors make to supporting aspiring entrepreneurs.
