A sensational new beginning is on the horizon! The groundbreaking ceremony for the brand new workshop of Grund & Jenkins Schreinerei für spaltere Kunst oHG in the Leimental Mahden industrial area in Ehningen is causing a lot of excitement! Today, on July 15, 2025, not just a construction project was started - the future of carpentry is being redefined here! This exciting moment was duly celebrated, in the presence of high-ranking representatives such as Mayor Lukas Rosengrün and numerous other dignitaries. The entire community seems to be already gearing up for the fantastic opportunities that this resettlement brings!
The traditional company, which set its roots in 1984, has been a fixture in the carpentry sector for two decades now. Now the location is being relocated to Ehningen due to the exploding order situation and impressive logistical conditions. With a huge site area of around 1000 square meters, the new workshop will not only exceed the well-known standards - it could even be the heart of the new wood revolution!
A monument of craftsmanship
The first construction phase includes a gigantic 350 square meter workshop - this is NOT your average carpentry project! In addition, the upper floor will be equipped with offices, a small parts warehouse and social rooms for the employees, who will rule here like kings. Part of the outdoor area is also intended as a storage area for lumber. This is the most explosive step for the company and a gigantic win for the entire region!
But that's not all! There are also current developments that are in the context of this large project. In the new Leimental/Mahden commercial area, new neighborhoods are being created for the Lutz wood company. The arable land gives way to building land and speaks to the extraordinary transformation of the region! The local council already made a decision on the development of these innovative plans in 2012, and despite strong criticism from the Greens and the SPD, the commercial area is being pursued at a huge cost of over one million euros. Simply incredible!
