In Böblingen, the local council has made a significant personnel change. Enzo Gaeta was elected today as the new chairman of the SPD+Left faction. At just 26 years old, he is the youngest member of the local council and succeeds Gerlinde Feine, who resigned for professional and time-related reasons. The election was unanimous, which underlines the support within the group. Gaeta, who is also the group's treasurer, would like to promote social issues and the concerns of youth in Böblingen. The deputy group leaders Kirsten Liebscher and Lukas Häberle will remain in their current roles and thus ensure a certain continuity in the group's leadership team.
Gerlinde Feine, who has been a pastor at the Böblingen town church since autumn 2013, became a member of the local council in 2019. Her decision to step down as group leader was met with regret from many quarters. Her work was characterized by a strong focus on social justice and equal opportunities.
