Jettingen wins impressively and climbs to third place!
VfR Jettingen achieved a convincing 4-1 win against the second team of FC Gundelfingen on the last match day. Thanks to this success, Jettingen climbed to third place in the table and remained unbeaten in the eighth league game in a row. The player Dominik Wohnlich played a key role in the success by scoring two goals and thus supporting his team strongly in the offensive. He opened the scoring in the 24th minute with a header from a precise cross from Nico Di Doi.
The first few minutes of the game were marked by numerous cards. Both Justus Riederle (2nd minute) and Nico Di Doi (5th minute) received a yellow card early on for tactical fouls. In the second half, Daniel Heidenberger made it 2-0 in the 49th minute after efficiently converting a corner. Shortly afterwards, in the 53rd minute, Heidenberger completed an attack with an impressive volley shot that decisively influenced the game in Jettingen's favor. Wohnlich made it 4-0 with his second goal in the 71st minute.
A brief glimmer of hope for the Gundelfingers
Although Gundelfinger was able to reduce the lead to 4-1 through Marvin Meier in the 77th minute, coach Johannes Putz remained dissatisfied with his team's overall performance, especially when it came to the goal they conceded. However, Putz praised the strong performance of his team, which with this performance is back in the fight for the top places in the table.
Jettingen can go into the next game with confidence, which will take place on October 19th against second-placed TSV Gersthofen. There is great anticipation for this duel as both teams are in strong form.
