Jettingen Fire Department celebrates defending its title at the big Hocketse fun!

The popular fire brigade hocketse took place in Jettingen on September 16, 2025, which offered a mixture of exciting competitions and musical entertainment. The event is traditionally held on the last holiday weekend and attracts both local citizens and visitors from surrounding communities. Despite the mixed weather, the fire department was able to count on a high number of visitors, which underlines the popularity of the festival. The event featured an extensive program that ranged from tug-of-war to rock and pop music to traditional brass music.

Particular focus was on the tug-of-war competition, in which four different teams competed. The title was defended by the fire brigade’s “Dick & Durstig” team, which once again proved to be the strongest team. To expand the scope of the event, the “Après Tug of War Party” with DJ Michael Helbig also took place, which created a good atmosphere and was well attended until late in the evening.

Culinary diversity and children's entertainment

The culinary catering was complemented by a variety of grilled specialties, with the fireman's schnitzel being particularly popular. As early as 11 a.m., long lines formed in front of the food stalls that provided guests with hearty food. An attractive children's program was offered for younger visitors, which included, among other things, tours with the fire engine and a play street.

Another highlight of the fire brigade hocketse were the demonstration exercises, which impressively demonstrated what the firefighters can do in an emergency. In two large-scale exercises, rescuing people from a wood debarking machine and rescuing an injured person from a vehicle using scissors and spreaders were simulated. These impressive demonstrations were well received by the audience, who watched with excitement.

Organization and participants

The preparations for the Hocketse required an organizational and advertising effort that should not be underestimated. A team of 5 to 8 people worked to get the event off the ground. The cost of materials was high because enough food and drinks had to be provided for the numerous visitors. At such large events, particular emphasis is placed on good planning in order to offer the audience an unforgettable experience. The festival was not only organized by the fire department, but also included the participation of neighboring communities and local clubs, which strengthened the sense of community.

In summary, the numerous elements of the fire brigade hocketse in Jettingen can be described as a great opportunity to celebrate the local culture, community and the work of the fire brigade. With the successful outcome of the festival, the fire department also shows itself to be a central authority in the community and an important part of village life.
