Great Holzgerlinger Run: Forest Trail on July 5th – Be there!

The 40th Holzgerlinger Run - Forest Trail will take place on July 5, 2025, an event that will make the hearts of running enthusiasts and spectators beat faster. The organizer, the Holzgerlinger Lauftreff, is hoping for ideal weather to celebrate an unforgettable award ceremony and an après run party in the stadium. The event will be part of the Schönbuch Cups and is the third race in this series.

The competition offering is diverse. For the youngest participants there is the Bambini run over 400 meters as well as student runs over 800 and 2000 meters. Adults can look forward to various distances, including a 5 km long youth, company and everyone's run as well as the main run - the forest trail, which covers 10 km and also offers a pair competition. The route is challenging and varied, with two different 5km laps that include both asphalt and gravel surfaces. The first lap is mostly flat, while the second lap is hilly and features a climb just before the finish.

Honors and awards

The honors are varied: The first three places (male/female) for students U10-U14 and youth U16-U18 will be awarded trophies. The overall winners of the forest trail and the age group winners also receive trophies. The fastest three pairs of runners will be honored in the pair skating competition, and the first three overall winners will be honored in the all-man race. There are also honors for the fastest three teams in the company run as well as for kindergartens and school classes with the most participants who can win a challenge cup.

The event is accompanied by music, with the sounds of drums serving as motivation, while spectators in the stadium are ready to cheer. The physical well-being of the participants is taken care of at various food and drink stands. Finishers can look forward to refreshing drinks and melons.
