Heat chaos in Magstadt: Cyclists brave 30 degrees on Race Days!
The Race Days in Magstadt, which took place on June 24, 2025, were not only an impressive event for cyclists, but also confronted the participants with extreme weather conditions. On this day, the athletes expected high temperatures of over 30 degrees, which posed a particular challenge for everyone involved. However, due to the heat, the men's race course was reduced by two laps from 25 to 23 laps to ensure competitors could remain safe in these conditions. A helper resignedly remarked: “Either flood or heat, Magstadt can’t do normal.”
The past year had already brought some difficulties with extreme precipitation, prompting organizers to find creative solutions and prepare for unexpected weather phenomena. Vincent Severin from RV Pfeil Magstadt will not quickly forget the weather extremes: “We all suffered.”
