Honors at VfL Herrenberg: 75 years full of passion and community
On October 13, 2025, a special evening full of appreciation took place at VfL Herrenberg, moderated by first chairman Werner Rilka. He reminded those present of the last 75 years of the club and told exciting anecdotes that were of emotional significance for many members. The event ended with a shared meal where there were lively discussions among the members and the association's community was celebrated.
Honors within the club play an important role in recognizing long-standing loyalty and special achievements. As already highlighted by meinverein.de, honorary membership is one of the highest honors, right after honorary chairmanship, and is often based on long-standing membership or special merits.

The VfL gold medal was awarded to:

Furthermore, the VfL Merit Medal in silver was awarded to Harald Kennke and in gold to Markus Rühle.
The awarding of such honors not only strengthens the association's sense of community, but also recognizes the tireless support of its members. vereinswelt.de emphasizes that the appointment as an honorary member requires the consent of the honoree and often results in special rights that are set out in the association's statutes.
The association's statutes regulate the conditions for honorary membership and determine how such honors are to be awarded and what privileges are associated with them. The influence of honors on the club community should not be underestimated - they are a form of recognition that many clubs see as a central part of their culture.
