Böblingen celebrates: Two teams move into the padel playoffs!

In an exciting season, both TA SV Böblingen and Padelschwaben II qualified for the playoffs of the 2nd Padel Bundesliga. This is what they reported Stuttgart News. The playoffs, which will take place in November, are the highlight of the season so far, in which both teams showed remarkable performances.

Captain Torsten Kronshage from TA SV Böblingen is particularly proud of his team's exceeded expectations. The club's men's 55 team also enjoyed success, while the women's 35 team unfortunately missed out on qualifying for the playoffs. These mixed successes reflect the dynamics and competition in German padel sport.

Structure of padel leagues

Since the 2023 season, the structure of the padel leagues in Germany has undergone significant changes. According to DPV Padel The amateur league was discontinued in order to promote the professionalization of padel sport. From the 2024 season, a new upper league will also be introduced, which will be established alongside the Padel Bundesliga, the 2nd Bundesliga and the regional leagues.

The introduction of the regional league in 2024 will complement the existing structure of the Padel Bundesliga and the reformed 2nd Padel Bundesliga. These changes are intended to further increase the competitiveness and level of competition in padel sports in Germany.

Championships and achievements

The successes in the various leagues show the growth of padel sport. In the past 2022 season, 52 teams took part in the now defunct amateur league. The championships from 2020 to 2024 demonstrate the tension in which the teams operate. For example, the women of Gärtner Sportpark were crowned champions in 2023 and 2024, while TC Weiden won the men's title both times.

The continuous development and the upcoming challenges in the padel leagues clearly show that the sport is experiencing positive dynamics in Germany. With the new leagues and structures, the foundation has been laid to further exploit the potential of padel sport and increase the level of the games.
